BOAT has delivered sloppy, shambolic pop music to the northwest since 2005. They are celebrating the release of their latest LP etitled, “Pretend to be Brave,” on Portland’s Magic Marker Records. It is 31 minutes of sloppy, caffeine fueled pop music, recorded by the legendary Larry Crane, at Portland’s Jackpot! Studios. It features guest vocals from Scott McCaughey (Young Fresh Fellows, The Minus 5, REM), Martyn Leaper (The Minders), and Shelley Short. If you have ever wondered what it would sound like if Kermit the Frog joined Guided by Voices on vocals, and added Fozzie the Bear took the place of Tobin Sprout, then BOAT is the band for you.
